Champion Arena v0.2!


Heya, Champion Arena dev here!

Just finished the newest version, v0.2, which has been in development for a few months. It's almost an entirely new game at this point! Some highlights are:

  • Second world: with five new enemies, a new boss, and an entirely new gimmick. Also, more lore.
  • More cards: the first version had an immense lack of variety with only one special card, Bomb, that nobody used. Now there are tons more new cards to discover, with even more coming along!
  • Updated level system; levels are now randomly generated! I tried to make them as balanced as possible, with a difficulty indicator so you know ahead of time what you're getting into. As a whole, the difficulty is easier, with the Tier 3 Difficulty stages being roughly as hard as the stages from the previous version.
  • Battles now give rewards! The harder the stage, the better the rewards.
  • Cards now can be upgraded! Upgrading cards gives them more damage, range or other effects. Collect Arcane Rubies during your run and turn them in to the Cardsmith to upgrade your cards.
  • Shops aren't guaranteed after each room anymore; rather, they are a room by themselves you can find during the run.
  • Each card now has an attack animation that plays so swinging your not-invisible-anymore sword is that much more satisfying.
  • Updated OST; one track for each of the worlds, and one boss theme for each boss brings the song count in this game to 4. There'll be much more in future versions, so stay tuned! The currently available songs can be found here on YouTube.
